schnoodleschnoodle puppyI advertise pups as soon as they are born.  You can visit and see the pups or you can select from the photos and descriptions I post. You will share information about your lifestyle and your expectations for the pup. Then, together we will make a decision on which pup is best for you.   Most "out of town" buyers find it easy to select a pup this way, put a deposit down then come when the pup is ready to go home.

DEPOSIT IS 1/2 THE PRICE OF THE PUP, and is NON-refundable but could be switched to another pup in the litter.  If there are more than two people interested in the same pup the first deposit will reserve the pup. Feel free to call for information on upcoming litters.

“I only want a female puppy”, is an often heard comment, yet when asked “why”? there is a pause and no real explanation.  Actually, males are better dogs and often over looked. OR “I want the pup to select me”, OR “please describe the different personalities you see within the litter”, is another statement I often hear. Let’s examine these comments.

schnoodle puppyschnoodlePlease see the “Birth to 8 weeks and puppy coats page” to help you visualize what I am talking about.  You will note that at birth they just look like “mice”, 10-14 days the eyes open, 3 weeks they can crawl with speed and by 4 weeks the pups are just standing up and wobbling around on starting to look like dogs! There is NO personality present, and they are still somewhat nervous of being away from mom and their littermates.  At 6 weeks they really love humans! 7-8 weeks is a frantic "free for all" within the litter, playing/fighting/gaining confidence. Coats are finally in and personality is a simple one of happiness to be alive!

One of the most important things is that the dog SIZE must meet the needs of the family. If you have another dog, you should try to get a dog that will NOT be too far out of proportion to that one. They WILL play and romp which could cause injury to your new dog, unless the other one is permanently outside. By the same token, little wee dogs do NOT belong in a family of small children. It is not fair to the dog or the kids who both have a natural instinct for play but neither can make "good decisions" about how rough. As gentle as you KNOW your kids will be with a pup, I have heard stories over and over that prove "well meaning" kids still have accidents. In most cases, I can “guesstimate” the size at maturity that will also play a big part in your decision.

SchnoodlesRead my philosophy on raising pups and you will feel fully confident that when you receive your Schnoodle, it will be exactly what you expect.  REMEMBER:  a pup is not born with a personality, any more than a baby is!  They develop a personality based on their lifestyle.  Once I had littermates go into two completely different homes.  One went to an 80 year old couple, the other to a family with 3 kids.  Six months later I was coincidently asked to babysit both pups while the families went on vacation.  I was amazed to see the difference in these two littermates!  One wanted to sit beside me and loved to be brushed.  The other wanted me to play all the time.  It is obvious which pup went with which owners! I have always advocated that the pup “takes on the lifestyle of the owners”, and this was perfect proof.
